We’re proud to be partnering with West Norwood Picturehouse and the Bare Life Drawing to host the first Bare Life Drawing Community Group Show, featuring amateur and emerging fine artists, most of whom are exhibiting for the first time.

Bare’s mission is to provide safe, inclusive and welcoming environments for artists and creatives to connect, network and forge meaningful relationships, and they, like us, are passionate about providing opportunities for new creative voices to flourish.

10% of all purchases are donated to the Bare Life Drawing Community, helping to ensure its longevity and social impact. The remainder will go to the contributing artists and funding public programmes in advancing and diversifying engagement in visual storytelling.

We could use your support.

Our studio raises funds to develop and deliver visual-arts projects that champion new and emerging creative talent in the UK, focusing on neurodiverse and minority voices and stories.

And, in 2026, we aim to grow our impact in working with individuals and communities under-served and under-represented in the visual arts, from animation to exhibitions, to fine-art workshops and performance.

£25 will sponsor a workshop place (with travel allowance) for a low-income or neurodiverse learner.

£50 will support the development of a digital learning resource aimed at hard-to-reach learners.

£100 will be just enough to sponsor an exhibition for a debut fine artist.

Artist-in-Residence

Jonny Kemp is an award-winning London-based portrait artist whose work depicts the protesters, campaigners and change-makers who challenge dominant social narratives and the rules that support them.

What is the purpose of portraiture in the present day? Historically, portraiture was often used to memorialise the rich, dominant class, reflecting their power rather than overtly challenging it. Figurative art was also used to teach and spread ideas, particularly Biblical stories, to a largely illiterate public.

However, portraiture no longer serves this function: photography killed the immediate need and social media has created a new form of storytelling. My work continues the tradition of portraiture but instead chooses to depict not those who made the rules, but those who break them – protesters, campaigners, changemakers - and tells a positive story using a slower form to make the audience pause and reflect.

My work reclaims portraiture as a form which does challenge, which memorialises people who are not given the right air time or media coverage, those who resist and are brave enough to fight for a better society. I create portraits which invite people to slow down in an age of social media-driven speed; in an age of transience, my paintings are a physical, permanent marker, designed to open up conversation.

Whether this work has the power to change anything is unresolved: but it is important that I use my work positively to try.

Charcoal Animation Workshop (14 - 17 years) | Tuesday, 17th Feb 2026 | 11 am - 1 pm

Edgware Library, Hale Lane, London HA8 8NN, UK

Participants will learn how to use a stationary camera and basic animation software to make films from their own charcoal drawings.
